Texting clients without being pushy
“Just checking in” is weak. A clear, kind ask is professional. Clients are busy — not ignoring you on purpose.
One ask per text
Pick a single next step: confirm a time, answer a scope question, or choose full vs phased. Multiple asks bury the reply.
Tone that stays calm
- Lead with context (“After yesterday’s call…”).
- Offer a fork when useful (“Full scope or a one-week pilot?”).
- Leave an easy out (“If timing shifted, no stress — reply when ready.”).
When silence is the answer
After two spaced follow-ups, send a polite close. Parking a deal is cleaner than weekly nudges. You can always reopen later.

Do not reinvent the wording every time you feel awkward. Keep five short texts you trust, then customize the brackets.
